Not a Music Library Job but …

A colleague shares this vacancy, which you might find it interesting. It would suit a cataloguer wishing to work in a performing arts institution.

Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance have just advertised a new vacancy for an Academic Liaison Librarian (Cataloguing & User Education). This part-time, permanent role will be based at the Laban Library, supporting programmes within the Faculty of Dance. The role has specific responsibility for cataloguing and also incorporates user education and academic liaison (which is shared across a small team of professional librarians). It additionally involves regular enquiry work, user support, circulation tasks, collection development and maintenance.

Full details of the role are available at: https://jobs.trinitylaban.ac.uk/Vacancy.aspx?id=398&forced=1

Salary:                                   £33,760-£40,179 p.a. pro rata (including LWA)

FTE:                                        0.6 (Weds-Fri)

Closing date:                      23.59 hours GMT on Sunday 8 October 2023

Interview date:                  Friday 3 November 2023

Sometimes people can be put off applying for a job if they think they can’t tick every box, but often the “perfect candidate” doesn’t exist. Not all candidates meeting the necessary criteria for cataloguing will necessarily have as much experience of user education. If you can do most of what this team is looking for, they would very much welcome your application.
