Benefits include career development, widening experience and working with other colleagues in the profession, not to mention the satisfaction of knowing that you will be making a valuable contribution to the Branch’s activities.

E.T. Bryant Memorial Prize Committee

We have an opening on the committee for the E.T. Bryant Memorial Prize.

The prize, worth £300, is awarded annually by IAML (UK & Irl) and The Music Libraries Trust to a researcher in the early stage of their career who has undertaken significant study in the field of music information. Applications are invited from the following:

  • students (or groups of students) who are currently enrolled, or who have graduated within the past calendar year in Library or Archive courses;
  • postgraduate researchers who are currently enrolled, or who have been awarded their PhD within the past calendar year;
  • music information professionals who are in the first five years of their career employment.

The deadline for applications is usually late February. Committee members assess the applicants’ work, confer, and a decision is made at the end of March. The prize is presented at the IAML (UK & Irl) Annual General Meeting.

This is a great opportunity to become involved in helping a music information professional at an early stage of his or her career. If you are interested, or have any questions, please contact the committee chair, Nicholas Clark. Do pass this message on to any colleagues who may be interested.
